This week, we have been alerted to what we have been fearing for some time: a large swathe of beautiful Koala habitat trees on Reis Rd has been approved for clearing.
This is an outrage. The community has long been calling for sensitive urban development that balances nature and housing, not more koala habitat destroying cookie cutter house blocks devoid of shade providing mature trees needed to Keep Toowoomba Cool.
We are calling on Toowoomba Regional Council to take immediate action to stop this ongoing destruction.
